PRE-HISTORY

In 1996-97 we were the Ghost Riders
Youth Steel Orchestra. Above, you see us performing for the dedication
of the St. John's Virgin Islands Legislature Conference Room. Ten years
later, the players here are grown, alumni not only of our steel band
but of high school and even college. The lessons they learned behind
their pans in discipline, cooperation, memorization, and community
service are bearing fruit today as they join the adult community as
active citizens.

We also played in 1997, as we
do each year, on the Cruz Bay waterfront for the Governor's Christmas
Party; the Santa hats were a perfect match for our bright red Ghost
Riders shirts. Spring of 1998 found us with a new arranger, Sean
Steele, a new name, "Love City Pan Dragons," and new music. Our
performance at St. Thomas Pan-O-Rama that year included hits from
Trinidad Carnival 1998 as well as a tribute song to the late great
Virgin Islands musician, Milo of the Milo and the Kings.

Labor Day 1998 found us in bucolic Coral Bay for the smallest and
certainly most relaxed parade in the Virgin Islands.
